About me
I currently serve as the Humanities Program Manager for the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE), supporting History, Government, Social Studies, World Languages, Library and Information Literacy, and Financial Literacy education across Kansas. Prior to joining KSDE, I spent 21 years as a middle and high school social studies educator, helping students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to engage thoughtfully in their communities and the world around them. Throughout my career, I have been honored to receive recognition including USD 320 Secondary Teacher of the Year twice and the Gilder Lehrman Kansas History Teacher of the Year award. I have also participated in prestigious professional learning opportunities, including the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the George Washington Teacher Institute, and the Amicus Street Law organization.
